Summer Student for Imaging Microscopy Project

Topic:

For a project related to Entropy profiling of microscopic images of different cell types and tissues. 
We offer an interdisciplinary working environment in an exciting research area.

During your stay you will have regular meetings with your mentor (on request), sit in our student room, and have access to our resources. 

The ultimate aim of our lab is to develop computational models describing aspects of cellular development.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Biology, Medicine, Bioinformatics or similar

Duration 1-2 months

  • Benchwork

International Student in Political and/or Social Sciences

Topic:

For a project related to social networks, network and perturbation analysis.

During your stay you will have regular meetings with your mentor (on request), sit in our student room or work from home, and have access to our resources. 

The aim is to model the dynamic evolution of certain social networks.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences

Duration 2-3 months

General Student/Research Assistant Positions

Topics include:

Complexity and multilayer network profiling with applications to heterogeneous biological data types, in particular genetic, neuro-denegative and autoimmune-related topics. 
We offer an interdisciplinary working environment in an exciting research area.

During your stay you will have regular meetings with your mentor (on request), sit in our student room, and have access to our resources. The focus of the all projects involves data analysis, simulation/modelling and algorithm development.

The ultimate aim is to develop computational models describing aspects of cellular development.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics or similar
  • Basic understanding of Biology
  • Programming skills in R, MATLAB or Wolfram Mathematica

​Duration 4-9 months

Expectations:
We expect 3 presentations about your work
At least 3 written reports (literature, midterm and final report/thesis) and
A final version of thesis/project report, at least 3 weeks before defense.
